Our beginning
Our Story
Mobile Cop Shop is proudly law-enforcement and veteran owned and operated by active Houston-area law-enforcement officers. We understand the importance of dependable equipment, quality products, and exceptional customer service because we use and rely on the same types of products ourselves. The gear you carry and wear every day is more than equipment—it is part of your profession, your safety, and your identity.
As the needs of our customers continue to evolve, so do we. In addition to trusted duty gear and public-safety products, Mobile Cop Shop now provides custom challenge coins, apparel, embroidery, patches, awards, gifts, and promotional merchandise for law-enforcement agencies, fire departments, military organizations, businesses, nonprofits, associations, and individuals nationwide.
Whether you are preparing for your first shift, replacing worn equipment, outfitting an agency, or creating custom products to represent your organization, our goal is simple: provide exceptional quality, fair pricing, and personalized service from people who understand the profession firsthand.
Our Founders
Built by J.R. and Judy Knott
Mobile Cop Shop was founded in 1990 by former Houston Police Officer Johnnie “J.R.” Knott and his wife, Judy. Together, they built a trusted resource for generations of Houston-area law-enforcement officers seeking duty gear, apparel, flashlights, holsters, badges, patches, and other essential equipment from the industry’s leading manufacturers.
Their commitment to dependable products and personal service established the reputation and relationships that remain the foundation of Mobile Cop Shop today. We are proud to carry that legacy forward and continue supporting the public-safety community for generations to come.
